Garden Maintenance, Backed by Horticultural Expertise

One-Off or Ongoing Garden Maintenance

Blue Iris Landscapes offers private garden maintenance as either a one-off visit or an ongoing regular service.

A one-off visit is ideal for seasonal jobs, garden clearances, hedge cutting, pruning or bringing an established garden back under control. It’s also a good choice for clients who enjoy looking after their own garden but would appreciate an extra pair of experienced hands at busier times of the year.

Our regular garden maintenance service provides planned weekly or fortnightly visits throughout the year, with the work adjusted to suit the garden and the season. It works particularly well for busy professionals who simply don’t have the time to maintain everything.

It is equally well suited to retired clients who have always taken pride in their garden but would now welcome some regular help with the more demanding jobs. You can continue to enjoy the parts of gardening you love, while our team takes care of the lawns, hedges, pruning and seasonal maintenance.

Whichever option you choose, our approach remains personal and centred around you. We want to help you create a garden that feels well cared for and enjoyable to spend time in, whether you are relaxing quietly, pottering between the borders or sharing the space with friends and family.

How Our Garden Maintenance Service Works

We begin with a free, in-person consultation at your property, giving us the opportunity to look around the garden, discuss your priorities and identify the work that would be most helpful.

This allows us to recommend the most suitable approach, whether you require a one-off visit or regular weekly or fortnightly maintenance.

Initial Conversation

A brief call to discuss your garden and schedule a consultation.

Site Visit
& Quote

A visit to assess the garden, followed by a no-obligation quote.

Setting the Schedule

Regular visits arranged — typically weekly or fortnightly.

Additional Support

Any work outside your agreed maintenance plan is discussed and quoted separately before being arranged.

Once the service is in place, we manage the garden with care, consistency and an understanding of seasonal growth. We monitor the condition of lawns, borders, hedges and planting, completing work at the right time and raising anything that may need additional attention.

You can feel confident that your garden is being looked after properly, with reliable support and experienced care throughout the year.

“The best gardens become part of your life without ever asking anything back. You walk into them, spend time in them, share them with people — and they always feel right. That’s what we look after.”

Private Garden Maintenance FAQs

It covers everything needed to keep the garden in the condition you expect — lawns, planting, borders, edges, and the overall feel of the space.

In practice, that means you don’t have to think about individual jobs or what needs doing next. The garden is maintained as a whole, so nothing falls out of step or starts to slip.

Most gardens are maintained weekly or fortnightly, depending on how quickly they grow and how the space is used.

If it’s left longer than that, things tend to build up — lawns lose consistency, planting moves ahead, and small issues become more noticeable. Regular visits keep everything steady, so you’re not dealing with changes as they happen.

It’s less about doing more, and more about not leaving it long enough to slip.

If you’ve ever gone a few weeks too long, you’ll know how quickly it turns into something that needs sorting. Regular maintenance keeps everything in check early, so it never reaches that point.

In larger gardens, different areas tend to move at different speeds — some grow quickly, others hold their shape longer.

Without regular attention, that creates imbalance. What we do is keep everything in step, so no single area starts to stand out or feel like it’s falling behind.

One-off work usually happens once the garden has already slipped.

Maintenance is what stops that happening in the first place. Instead of bringing the garden back repeatedly, it keeps everything where it should be so you’re not dealing with the same reset repeatedly.

They’re all managed together, not as separate jobs.

So rather than just cutting the lawn or trimming a hedge, everything is kept in proportion — lawns stay consistent, planting doesn’t take over, and boundaries hold their shape.

That’s what keeps the garden feeling settled, not pieced together.

In most cases, yes.

When a garden is left, things build gradually — then all at once it feels like a bigger job. Regular maintenance avoids that cycle, so you’re not facing large-scale tidy-ups or starting again.

The garden is adjusted as the seasons change, rather than reacting after things have shifted.

Growth, weather and usage all affect how it behaves through the year. Regular maintenance keeps pace with that, so the garden stays consistent instead of needing to be brought back into shape each season.

Cost depends on the size of the garden, how detailed it is, how often it’s maintained, and how quickly different areas grow.

After a site visit, you’ll have a clear understanding of what’s involved and what’s needed to keep the garden at the standard you expect.

Most of what keeps the garden in order is covered within regular maintenance.

Occasionally, something sits outside that — heavier work, specialist tasks, or areas that need more attention than usual. When that happens, it’s handled separately so the regular service stays consistent, and nothing is rushed or cut back to fit it in.

If you’d like an outdoor space you can simply use and enjoy, we can take care of the rest.
