Get your garden ready for guests

Now that we are finally allowed to have our friends and families back in our gardens, it may highlight whether our gardens are fit for guests! As we have been in lockdown for so long, we have not had to entertain, so here are a few ideas to get your garden ready for visitors:

Have a Tidy Up.

Get Your garden ready for guestsIt is important to ensure that your garden looks the part, make sure that any leaves have been raked, weeds have been dealt with and any other debris has been removed. This also makes your garden more practical and gives guests room to socially distance! It may also be time to pressure wash your patio to remove any dirt and show off the colours of the paving, brightening up the place.

Do You Have Enough Seating Areas?

Get your garden ready for guestsWith it being so long since we have been able to see each other, it is highly likely that we will be spending a lot of time together, so make sure your guests have somewhere to sit and relax whilst you have a catch up over a nice cup of tea! You do not want to leave them standing for too long. It may also be a good idea to have separate seating areas, so different members of your family can have friends over for a catch up at the same time. This helps to avoid any conflicts of who can have their guests over, we have all missed our friends and are desperate to see them!

Make it Suitable for All Ages

Get your garden ready for guestsWe need to remember that young children have had to go a long time without socialising with their friends outside of school, we are sure they have missed that! Have you got any games that they can enjoy in the garden, any swing sets or slides, or maybe even simply a small space for them to have fun? If not, it is worth considering!
