We are fast approaching Spring, and we are so excited! It is not long until we are able to have our friends and family back in our gardens, so, is your garden ready for Spring? Here are some of our top tips for this time of year.
Clean out your gutters:
Guttering can become blocked by excess moss from your roof, leaves and twigs. Even weeds can begin to grow in there! Whilst this may not seem like a big issue, it is extremely important that you clear the debris from your guttering to avoid water spilling over and damaging fascias, soffits and, in some cases, even the brickwork! Along with this, it can also ruin the aesthetic of the property.
Start Planting:
Now is the best time to start planting so that the plants can grow throughout the spring and flower by summer! This is suitable for roses, fruit trees and shrubs. Doing so allows them enough time to become established before plants go dormant over the winter. It also adds a lovely pop of colour to your garden.
Pruning of your existing plants:
Your winter plants, (for example, wisteria or any evergreen hedges) may need some pruning to encourage stronger growth and keep them looking neat and tidy, ready for when your guests arrive!
Take care of your lawn:
Now is a great time to feed and rake your lawn. This ensures that all debris, leaves and dead grass cuttings are removed, allowing it to breathe and preventing any waterlogging.
